Welcome · Ministries · Fox Valley
Welcome to Safe Families Fox Valley.  We serve the Fox Valley area, working in partnership with the Chicago and Rockford offices to cover the region in between; ranging from approximately DeKalb to I-355; I-90 to Aurora.

In addition to actively recruiting volunteer Safe Families, Safe Families Fox Valley is in the process of setting up a comprehensive support network for volunteer and biological families to assist them.  This model is comprised of several key areas.  Initially, our ministry launched out of Christ Community Church in St. Charles, but our long-term vision is that some or all of the programs we have defined can be easily replicated at other churches throughout the Fox Valley to extend God's love on a much larger and broader scale.

Some of our programs include:

Volunteer Safe Families (I'm interested)
Families willing to open their homes to children in crises and provide a safe and loving home and family atmosphere for them on a temporary basis.

The Closet (I'm interested)
Our storage facility of non-perishable children’s items such as diapers, cribs, strollers, and clothing.  Service opportunities include inventory, organization and cleaning activities.

Services
(I'm interested)
A comprehensive network of professionals willing to provide services on a donated or discounted rate for the support of children in crisis and/or volunteer families.  Doctors, dentists, hair-care professionals, handymen and house cleaners are just a few examples.

Time Out
(I'm interested)
Volunteers willing to provide temporary (less than 1 day) care of children to allow volunteer families to run errands, shop, or simply get a break.

Hands and Feet
(I'm interested)
A team of volunteers that provide initial supplies (from The Closet) and meals to family accepting a placement.  During placement, may also run errands for the family.

Connections (I'm interested)
Collection of small groups providing prayer, encouragement, and solutions specific to the volunteer families the ministry serves.  Examples include play groups, coffee talks, burger night, and attachment awareness support.

Life Coaches (I'm interested)
Mature Christians serving in a mentoring role to connect with biological families; assisting with and addressing the circumstances that led to their crisis, with the goal of moving towards or advancing them in, a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Case Coaches (I'm interested)
Volunteers who facilitate the relationship between the biological and volunteer Safe Family during a placement.  Their primary focus is ensuring the well-being of the child(ren) while coordinating communications between the various agencies, volunteer Safe Family, and the biological family.

Home Study Specialist (I'm interested)
Home Study Specialists have the exciting job of meeting new prospective Safe Families, and performing home studies.  They often describe the program and also often answer any questions during this initial visit.
